How to make Peach Iced Tea Recipe

With the recent heat waves all over, cooling down has been so important. In the South, we love our sweet teas for just that. A tall cold glass of sweet tea tastes like happiness on a hot and humid day.

This recipe helps you turn the Great Mississippi Tea Company Grilled Southern Peach tea into an awesome and super pretty beverage. Serve it to guests and impress them with your US grown tea, mixed with beautiful peaches. 

Not this recipe is sweet! If you do not love your sweet tea sweet, play with the sugar and honey mixture a bit. Only add a little at a time. Some of us here are big fans of this completely sugar free. So have fun with it and modify as you see fit.

Here is how to use our Grilled Southern Peach tea to make a great iced beverage. 

Ingredients:

• 5 (8oz) cups of water (4 for tea making, 1 for syrup)
• 10 tsp of Grilled Southern Peach Tea
• 1-2 peaches, sliced and frozen (approximately 1.5 cups)
• 2 peaches, pureed (approximately 1.5 cups)
• 3/4 cup sugar 
• 3/4 cup honey

 Steps:

1. Take your 1-2 peaches and cut them into slices. Place them in a Tupperware container in the freezer.
2. Puree 2 peaches.
3. Heat up 4 cups of your tea water to 200F.
4. Place 10 tsp of Grilled Southern Peach tea into your hot water and let it steep for 6 minutes. Place into the fridge after 6 minutes to begin cooling.
5. In a pot bring to a boil 1 cup of water with the 3/4 cups of sugar and 3/4 cups of honey.
6. Puree your peaches and run them through a strainer.
7. Add strained pureed peaches into your syrup and mix on a low boil. This is now your peach syrup.
8. Add your peach syrup into the tea mixture a small amount at a time until desired sweetness is reached. Give it a stir.
9. Place the mixture back in the fridge to cool. Let it sit for at least 2 hours. 
10. Add ice and the frozen peaches from the freezer.

Can you use pre packaged frozen peaches?

Sure you can! But fresh is always best. 

Can I just mix the sugar and honey directly into the hot water?

For the best results, we recommend boiling the sugar to make a syrup mixture. This ensures the sugar fully melts into the water.

Can you make this with any other tea?

Yes, you could make this with Black Magnolia, Black tea it just may not be as peachy!

Can you add alcohol?

Sure, add a Vodka, vanilla Vodka or even add more peach flavor with a peach flavored alcohol such as Peach Schnapps.
